Ride Report for Ride Captain Adam Laurich

Marine CPL “Harry O” Brooks wasn’t keen on a welcome home until his father suggested a small VFW party. That’s when Warriors Watch and Wounded Heroes Foundation were invited to “stop by and crash the party.”  With the support of Joliet Police and Fire Departments, Marine Leatherneck Riders, and MOMs Cookies, we loudly rolled into the Joliet VFW with 4 Squad Cars, an Engine and Ambulance, 4 motorcycles, and a ton of Trucks and Cars with strobe lights and horns blasting. The neighborhood was awaken as people came out on their porches to witness our Welcome Home procession. Yet despite the earth shaking noise made outside the VFW, our Hero and his family didn’t hear our phone calls or welcoming blasts. Their party was Rocking and Rolling inside, but the DJ’s music came to a screeching halt as WWR Crashed the Party and gave our hero hugs and the presentation! Not a dry eye in the house! Harry O was so taken back with our presence that he couldn’t stop smiling and thanking us. Our response was- don’t thank us WE ARE HERE TO THANK YOU! He returns to Bethesda Army Hospital in the beginning of the year.
