Ride Report from Karen Ackely (Techgirl)

Spc. Tyler Gall’s mom has been following our escorts and welcome home’s in the Doylestown, PA area since her son was deployed and has always dreamed of having one for him. Well, we made sure her dream came true this past Sunday. We rallied at a local supermarket, and under the pretense of his mom’s car breaking down and her needing help, Tyler and two of his friends came to his mom’s rescue on their bikes. The look on his face when he came through the flag line was priceless! We did our usual mug n hug and coining for Tyler, as well as coining his grandfather who is a WWII vet. Both Tyler and his grandfather were extremely appreciative that we recognized them for their service to our country. We saddled up, and with Tyler up in the front, we left for the four-mile escort to his house. Once there, Hillary presented Tyler with the Hero’s Welcome certificate (thanks for stepping up Hillary!!) as well as the Combat Vets coining Tyler too. Since Tyler loves to ride, we hope to see him soon on some WWR missions. It was an honor to meet Tyler and his family  – thank you for giving WWR the opportunity to thank you for your service and to welcome you home.

On another note, while we were waiting for our “package” an officer from the Point Pleasant Fire Department presented WWR with several flags that had been flown over the capital building in Harrisburg. They were available as “extras” from a ceremony for senior members of the fire company. The officer simply wanted us to know they appreciated the support we provide our warriors and hoped we would find a good home for them. I am sure they will find a good home!
