Ride Report for Ride Captain Pat  (Tamale)

WWR and AHW got the Labor Day Weekend off to a great start with a Welcome Home Escort for LCpls Jason Kilmartin and John Carson. Our heros were driving home on leave and thought they were meeting Jason’s mother, Diane for dinner at a local eatery. Little did Jason know that we were lurking in the parking lot awaiting his arrival. John was Diane’s contact and he secretly kept us updated via text messaging on their location and arrival time. The West Norriton Police, The Lower Providence Police and The Worcester Fire Department were all on hand for the surprise and also gave us a safe escort to the Kilmartin residence. The Worcester Fire Department included an antique fire engine, which our heros rode in for the escort home….. a very nice touch!

We arrived at the Kilmartin home to huge gathering of neighbors, relatives and friends. WWR made its coin presentation to both Marines and AHW made certificate presentations as well. While we were giving our full blown Welcome Home, one of our alert riders found a VietNam Vet Marine in the crowd. The family had asked us to do a parade lap around the neighborhood before we left, so upon completion of that, we swung by again and Welcomed Home the proud VietNam Vet. It was an extremely emotional scene. One of our own VietNam Marine Vets coined this hero and tears flooded the street! The Kilmartins got to witness exactly what we are all about. HAPPY LABOR DAY TO ALL!!!

Respectfully Submitted,

Pat (Tamale)
