Ride Report posted for Chris

Specialist David Cullen is a flight medic attached to the 144th ASMC Medic Unit based in Salt Lake City, Utah. We were set up and ready to go at 10:40 to welcome him home after he had served a year in Afghanistan. On his way home to Pennsylvania he ran into, of all things, flight trouble.

David’s family was distraught.  Because of the flight delay, and another scheduled mission that afternoon, it looked like the welcome home they had planned for him would have to wait until another day.

They didn’t have to wait.

We worked with the Police and Fire Department to reset the schedules and at 14:30 we rolled into the arrival terminal with enough time to welcome this Hero home.

As David walked down the terminal he was greeted by his family, friends and A Hero’s Welcome.

While David’s family was giving him hugs and taking pictures we set up a Philadelphia Airport Welcome Home flag line to make sure this soldier knew how much we appreciated his service.

We had Police and Fire escort from the airport to this hero’s front door and thanks to the quick work of some WWR members the PennStar Helicopter did a fly-by of the house to welcome our medic home.

Thank you to the Cullen family for the honor of welcoming David home.

A special thank you to Officer Douglas Linker, the Havertown Police Department and the Llanerch Fire Department for a flawless escort and a job well done.
