The WWR honored Sgt. Scott Ayers and his bride Air Force Veteran Megan Ayers at their wedding Saturday morning in Naperville, Il. We then gave them an escort to their reception in Bolingbrook. Scott was wounded two separate times in Iraq and earned the Bronze Star to go with two Purple Hearts. After a four year career in the US Marine Corps and tow deployments to Iraq as a scout sniper he is being recalled.

We were joined by Operation Support Our Troops IL., Operation Welcome You Home, and the Leather Necks Motorcycle club in our effort. The storms went through just in time for the mission and we had a sunny morning for the happy occasion. About fifteen bikes and ten cars participated in the escort and we had about thirty folks in our flag line at the church.

I want to thank the Woodridge and Bolingbrook Police Departments for their help in keeping us safe and adding some excitement. Thanks to the OSOTIL for the lead and Donna at OWYH for her coordination. Thanks to our members, the friends and family of the couple for showing great support. The happy couple were presented with the framed mission announcement, challenge coins, beads and a quilt. I most of all want to thank this couple for their courageous service and sacrifice. Congratulations and Best Wishes in you new life together. They will be heading out to Luke AF Base this week
