We were asked to provide a flag line and escort for Army Veteran, John “Papa John” Detrick of Scranton.

WWR, along with members of Friends of the Forgotten, Sons of Nam, Legion Riders and Phoenix stood a flag line at the funeral home.  Lazydawg was asked to say a few words along with several other close friends. Afterwards, nine bikes made the ride up the mountain to Elmhurst for the graveside ceremony.  Papa John’s Harley was ridden by a friend.

John was a longtime member of Alcoholics Anonymous, where he helped many people overcome their problem.  The recovering community also came out in force to pay their respects.

John was an avid motorcycle rider, was loving and kindhearted and would do anything for anyone.  He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend who will be deeply missed.  He was an inspiration to many and that will continue on in the legacy he leaves behind.
