On Sunday afternoon October 27 Captain Spencer Garrison, US ARMY was honored for his dedicated service to our country with a Welcome Home  and escort by WWR, AHW , Legion Riders, Second Brigade, Widow’s Sons and many friends and family in Yardley Pa.

Spencer’s mother Marsha arranged an afternoon lunch for family and friends at a local restaurant and asked WWR if we could do something to welcome Spencer home. Well, Marsha did not know exactly what “Doing something” means to WWR and AHW. After a bit of planning Warriors’ Watch and A Hero’s Welcome put together “A Little Something” to show Captain Garrison how much we appreciate his dedicated service as a veteran of both Iraq and Afghanistan.

Prior to joining the US ARMY, Spencer attended the Pennington School where he graduated in 2005. He is an accomplished marathon runner having competed in the Boston marathon 4 times as well as in the Philadelphia and Richmond marathons.

Captain Garrison is a graduate of The United States Military Academy at West Point, class of 2009. He served in Iraq and just returned from Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan where he was a public affairs officer for 555 Engineer Brigade (Triple Nickel). He is a Bronze Star recipient.

Warriors’ Watch Riders and A Hero’s Welcome rallied at Brian’s HD in Langhorne where we were joined by Second Brigade, Legion Riders, Widow’s Sons and the Combat Veterans Association. After receiving a call from Marsha we formed our procession led by WWR Road Guards and made the short trip to the family home.

As we approached the development along the river we saw family and friends waving flags to greet our procession. We entered the development with lights flashing and horns blaring. A very surprised Captain came to the front yard to see what all of the honking was about. What he saw was a couple dozen bikers lining the street. He soon realized that we were all there to thank him for his service to our country.

Spencer was presented our WWR honor coin by Vietnam veteran Lee and thanked for his dedicated service to our country. A Hero’s Welcome certificate was then presented to the Captain by Tom giving him thanks from a grateful nation. Brenda from AHW then presented a star from a retired American flag to keep as a reminder that he is not forgotten.  JD came forward and presented Captain Garrison a coin from the Combat Veteran’s Association. Dutch then completed the presentation ceremony as he presented Spencer with Warrior beads and explained the significance of the colors in the strands.

As is our tradition, we then formed for a group picture with Spencer, family and friends in the front yard. We were very pleased to have this event televised by TV 29 and CBS 3 News.

Warriors Watch Riders extend our sincere thanks to Greg and Marsha Garrison and the entire Garrison family for inviting us to participate in this very well deserved Welcome Home for Spencer. Thank you to the many veteran support groups who joined in this honor ceremony. Thank you WWR Road Guards for the safe escort and to the family celebration.

Most of all, THANK YOU Captain Spencer Garrison, US ARMY for all you have done to protect and preserve the freedoms we all enjoy today!
