Ride Report for Ride Captain Sidekick

On December 23rd the Malason family were excited to see their Marine, LCpl Mark Malason, come home to spend the holidays and a much-deserved leave. The LCpl was stationed in Okinawa, Japan since last January and was excited to spend his leave with his family just in time for the holidays. Little did he know, his Aunt Colleen placed a call to Warriors Watch Riders to make this homecoming unforgettable. The SEPA Warriors Watch Chapter met at Washington Fire Company to await the arrival of the Marine and his family.

As I was talking with the family, I discovered that Lance Corporal Malason came from a lineage of Marines. After the ride briefing I asked them all to step forward and presented them with our symbolic Honor Coin. The delay of the Lance Corporal’s flight bought time for everyone to get prepared and make his Welcome Home truly picture perfect.

Finally, I would like to take the time to thank those that made this mission a safe success. First, Chief Phipps was instrumental in planning and coordinating this ride.
