Ride Report posted for Dave (Jinksey) Jinks

We honored K9 officer Schultz as a hero today in Gloucester Township, NJ. Police say a robbery suspect swung the K-9 into oncoming traffic on Route 42 when Schultz clamped down on his arm. Two men are charged with robbing a nearby Chinese eatery before Schultz and his handler, Cpl. Mark Pickard, tracked the pair nearly a half mile to an area near Route 42.

WWR rallied 20 MC’s and a few cages. We lined both sides of Peter Cheesman Rd, with a WWR honor guard near Camden County Collage at the entrance of Gloucester Township Community Park as the motorcade that included K9 Shultz, his handler, and every member of the Gloucester Township Police Department passed by. Nearly 1,000 community and law-enforcement members, including 150 police

dogs along with their handlers, from as far away as Virginia and New York gathered at the Park to honor the late GTPD K9 Officer Schultz. During the ceremony the police department radio came alive as they retired K9 Shultz call ID for the last time live on the radio. A volley of shots from a police honor guard, that was echoed by the equally loud barks from all of the gathered K9’s. The ceremony ended as Cpl Pickard drove away with Shultz remains in their K9 patrol car for one last patrol around town

A memorial was unveiled in the park that memorializes Shultz and all of the GTPD K9 Officers that have passed on before Shultz. Schultz is only the 2nd Police K9 in NJ to loose his life in the line of duty.

Thank you to everyone who took the time and braved the cold to stand and honor K9 Shultz.

Rest In Peace Officer Shultz.
