From the Gazeebo...
There are no words..
...that could make any sense of the loss of our friend, our beloved Katherine (Kat) Fialkowsky. She was far too young, far too good, far too giving and caring for us to find a reason why she should be taken from us.
Kat passed out of our lives on February 15 after a short and very sudden, unexpected illness. One day she was with us in our volunteer work, the next she was not.
Kat was the wife of our Warriors Watch National Coordinator, "T." T and Kat were life partners in the truest sense of the concept. Married for well over 40 years, they did everyting together. Kat was a fixture next to T on all WWR missions. Her place on the back of T's bike is empty now, and the sight is painful for us all. I do not wish to intrude on their privacy, but you need to know that from all outward appearances their love was as fresh on the last day as it was on the first.
Kat was a staunch and avid supporter of our nation's warriors and veterans. She was the National Director of the American Warriors' Watch Coalition.
Please go to that website and you will see for yourself the result of Kat's work. The AWWC was conceived as an unbrella organization under which all national Troop Support groups could gather in order to share resources, avoid duplication of efforts, and act as a national clearinghouse for troops and vets in need of the support of their nation. You need only look at the awesome list of member groups to see the fruit of Kat's labors.
The AWWC logo has been made into a memorial for Kat. Patches will soon be availalbe (at no cost to you, of course.)

As a Warriors' Watch member, friend or supporter, please join us in sending our deepest and most fervent condolences to T and all of Kat's family.
The Troop Support Volunteer Community has lost not only a friend, but a force. May God grant her peace, and her family comfort in knowing that the memory of her is cherished by us all, and that her legacy will continue with the work of the American Warriors' Watch Coalition.
May God continue to bless the United States of America, still the greatest nation the world has ever known, and may He bless and watch over all of those who defend her.

*This newsletter is named "The Weekly Ride" or "The Ride", for short, in memory of and to honor Sgt. Jennifer Hartman, U.S. Army. Sgt. Hartman was killed in Iraq by America's enemies. She died in defense of our freedom at the age of 20. This quote from Jennifer, written to a friend who was feeling down, was read at her graveside:
"It's not about what happened in the past. It's not about what might happen in the future. It's about the ride, for Christ's sake."
