WARRIORS' WATCH RIDERS: STANDING IN SILENT SUPPORT, YET AGAIN
The Warriors' Watch Riders is a national organization, but lately the chapters in the Atlantic States Region have had more than their fair share of very, very sad duties to discharge in support of our police. To cut to the chase: the city of Philadelphia is under siege. The Philadelphia Police are under fire - by bullets, and by a culture that breeds violence and a justice system that coddles criminals. The latest casualty in the war against law and civilized society is Officer John Pawlowski:
MURDERED: OFFICER JOHN PAWLOWSKI, PHILADELPHIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Officer Pawlowski is the SIXTH Philadelphia Police Officer killed in 16 months. He was killed by a career criminal with a rap sheet as long as your arm - a self described Islamic extremist (jailhouse convert) who had been overheard saying that his intention was to kill a cop. He followed through. Police were called to the scene of a "fight." A Pawlowski approached, the murderer opened fire with a handgun that he never bothered to remove from the pocket of his coat. Pawlowski was struck several times, he never had a chance.
Pawlowski was 25 years old. He was a newlywed, and his young wife is two months pregnant with his first child. On Friday, February 20, services wil be helf for Officer Pawlowski at the Cathedral Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul. Again. Following the service, a procession miles long will make its way to Bensalem, Pa., to Resurrection cemetery. Again.
Honoring this procession will be the Warriors' Watch riders, along with hundreds of other demoralized, outraged citizens. We will line Hulmeville Road and stand in silent honor of his life and in agonized protest of this failure of our city and out society. The request for us to do this came directly from the Philadelphia Police Commissioner, who knows from bitter experience that the sight of so many standing with flags does in fact bring some comfort to the family and friends of the murdered officer.
See the "Mission Planning" section of this newsletter, below. Meanwhile, for those of you in the Philadelphia area, you can download a WWR Flyer, print, copy and distribute it to call for participation for this act of honor. You can also download and print your "I Proudly Support the Philadelphia Police" poster from our site, and post that sign on your car, your house, your place of business.
Pray to God that this is the last time. But continue to honor those first responders who know, each time they leave the house in the morning, that it probably won't be the last time, and that the next time, it could be them. And yet, they go out anyway. That is the very definition of honor.
Donations may be made to the P/O John Pawlowski Family Trust, 1336 Spring Garden St., Philadelphia 19123. Donations may also be dropped off at the Police and Fire Federal Credit Union or Philadelphia Federal Credit Union.

MEMBER NEWS!
WELCOME NEW STATE COORDINATOR BIG DADDY AND ASSISTANT OCEAN EYES!
One of the busiest chapters in the Atlantic States Region for the WWR has been the state of New Jersey. Until now our New Jersey Chapter, ably led by Redbeard and JohnDelivers, has borne the brunt of the load, often running 2, 3, 4 missions in a week to welcome home our nation's warriors.
Now, our continued growth has necessitated that we divide New Jersey into two halves for the purposes of coordinating these missions. Accordingly, we now have a Southern New Jersey chapter and a Northern New Jersey chapter. Stepping up to fill the need for new coordinators for that area is John " Big Daddy and Lisa "Ocean eyes!" John and Lisa are veterans of many welcome home missions, and normally have to ride for hours to make their way down from North Jersey. Now they'll have the opportunity to spread the mission to the area closer to home, and our warriors' are the winners of this new arrangement!
Thank you John and Lisa!

*This newsletter is named "The Weekly Ride" or "The Ride", for short, in memory of and to honor Sgt. Jennifer Hartman, U.S. Army. Sgt. Hartman was killed in Iraq by America's enemies. She died in defense of our freedom at the age of 20. This quote from Jennifer was read at her graveside:
"It's not about what happened in the past. It's not about what might happen in the future. It's about the ride, for Christ's sake."
