From the Gazeebo...
WWR: California Dreamin'
The Vision of the Warriors' Watch Riders is that one day this nation will recognize that our true heroes are our American warriors (and their families, for the sacrifices that they make.) The way we are doing that is by Growing the WWR and the number of coalition partners we work with, helping to maximize our work while spreading the word of what we do.
The newest chapter to sign on to the WWR phenomenon is Northern California! Help me in welcoming dozens of new members from that region. "Spike" has agreed to be the N.Ca. State Coordinator, and after several phone conversations with both myself and T, the National Coordinator, we could not be MORE please. Thank you, Spike, for stepping up! And welcom all SF-area members to the Warriors' Watch! You will find that you've just gained about 2,000 brothers and sisters in the fight.
Feef down, UPDATED Info
Not only is our Feefers doing a LOT better, but she actually made it out to a mission today! (We almost mistook her for her twin, Lenny.) It caused a huge sigh of relieve that Feef is sufficiently recovered from her injuries to come out for a mission, and we owe a debt of gratitude to Feef's father for taking her in his car. Feef's Dad, WELCOME to the Warriors' Watch! You looked great holding that American Flag today for that soldier!
Another of our women went down, we learned. Georgia Peach "CrazyBytchDog" had a bad motorcycle accident resulting in several broken bones. She is recovering at home now, but her accident coming right on top of Feef's forces us to instutute a new WWR rule: No more crashing! Especially the girls!
There. That's done. Please visit the new Sick Call forum to check on Georgia Peach's condition and to look to see who else needs some consolation. These words of encouragement and caring truly help, don't ever doubt it!
A final word on New Chapters - we had a very nice Welcome Home mission in Pennsylvania today for Brian Drumheller, and Brian's Brother Kurt, an officer with the Sheriff's Department in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, flew all the way out here to join his other brother and father in welcoming Brian home. (Father and both sons rode with us on their motorcycles). We are now talking to Kurt about the possibility of starting a new WWR chapter in Wyoming with Kurt at the helm, and we are excited and grateful for this! Kurt and the entire Drumheller family are truly just plain good people, the kind of people who make you proud to be an American! Weclome home Brian!

NEW STORE ITEMS
We have a couple of brand-new items for sale in the WWR "store." The first is a "Thin Blue Line" motorcycle windshield banner - a cloth banner with reinforced grommets in each end for attachment. It's long enough to fit most motorcycle windshields nicely, and is very appropriate for any police-support ride - happy or otherwise. The second item, just in time for the 4th of July is a head-wrap/bandana in red-white and blue. No logos on this, it's just all-American (I almost always wear this same bandana.) It a cut trianle of material sewn on all sides, and the long side is a big 50 inches so there is plenty of material to tie up. (It could even be used for a sling.) Check out the Store Page to see these new items.

HGTV Veteran Special
You all know HGTV - Home and Garden TV. They are engaged in a project to rennovate two homes - one in St. Louis and one in Philadelphia, for the use of recently returned Veterans who are in a transitional status and have no place to stay. The home in Philadelphia will house three veterans at a time, and the unveiling is coming up this weekend, when it will be displayed for the first time for the three American Warrior Heros who will benefit from it first. A Hero's Welcome and Warriors' Watch have been invited by HGTV to be a part of this program, and we couldn't be more excited and honored. This project will truly help some very needy vets, and that's all we need to know. The filming of this will take place in Philadelphia this weekend, and it will air on Veteran's Day, 2009, on HGTV. Be there!

*This newsletter is named "The Weekly Ride" or "The Ride", for short, in memory of and to honor Sgt. Jennifer Hartman, U.S. Army. Sgt. Hartman was killed in Iraq by America's enemies. She died in defense of our freedom at the age of 20. This quote from Jennifer was read at her graveside:
"It's not about what happened in the past. It's not about what might happen in the future. It's about the ride, for Christ's sake."
