WARRIORS' WATCH: RIDING THE WWR "HIGH"
Few things bother me more than people who throw words like "honor" out like candy from a parade float, but then conduct their lives in a way that puts the lie to their words. But I have learned things about YOU, the WWR Riders - especially as one who, like some of you, has seen you in action from BOTH sides of the flag line. I truly believe that you men and women who are moved to join the Warriors' Watch Riders do so because they are among the most decent, honest, down-to-earth, and yes, honorable men and women that our society has to offer. These are men and women who walk the walk and don't just talk the talk. People from all walks of life who have found a way to act upon their desire to show honor to those among us who are most deserving of honor - our troops, our first responders, and our veterans.
For you who've been around the WWR for awhile, you know the feeling of "family" that you get here. (for those of you who are newer - WELCOME, and you will experience this for yourself!) I think the reason for this feeling of "family" is that so many of us are motivated by the same things, like the need to show the world that our troops are our heros.
Once you experience a Welcome-Home escort - when you see the pride on the face of the soldier, when you see the tears of joy on the face of that soldier's mother, the joy that the family feels upon seeing a huge group of "strangers" treating their loved one like a "rock-star" - once you experience this WWR High you are hooked, and you need to get your welcome home "fix" again and again.
Every chance I get to ride with you, the WWR members, I look forward to it like a kid looks forward to the ice-cream truck on a hot summer day. I LOVE riding with you, I consider it a TRUE honor to ride with you. As if throwing a leg over a chrome-and-steel horse and riding in the wind , riding far and riding free, were not reward enough, the reward that comes of riding for a cause like ours is the WWR High. It's the fix that each of us craves.
WWRiders, ride free, ride strong, ride proud in the wind. Ride the WWR High.

WWR STORE
We have a new hat on the WWR store - it's a black leather baseball cap with the 2-inch embroidered "gold ring" WWR patch sewn on the front, sweatband and velcro closure. We mention this because the quantity of these hats is limted and we're not sure how many we'll be able to get, so please be sure to get yours soon, here at the WWR "store."
We have also ordered some new patches. These are troop-support ptaches that to NOT display the WWR affiliation, so that you can display your support of our nation's warriors in any context, not just as a WWR member. We expect these new patches in a few weeks, so watch the store page for the new items.
(Remember, no one makes any profit from the WWR store. We charge only enough to purchase the items in bulk from the manufacturers and pay for shipping and shipping materials and supplies and PayPal fees. The purpose of the WWR store is to provide you with a source of items with which to proudly display your affiliation with the Warriors' Watch Riders, not to make a profit. The WWR has no money of its own, we do NO fundraising and we do NOT accept donations. We proudly do what we do on our own time and at our own expense.)

*This newsletter is named "The Weekly Ride" or "The Ride", for short, in memory of and to honor Sgt. Jennifer Hartman, U.S. Army. Sgt. Hartman was killed in Iraq by America's enemies. She died in defense of our freedom at the age of 20. This quote from Jennifer was read at her graveside:
"It's not about what happened in the past. It's not about what might happen in the future. It's about the ride, for Christ's sake."
