WARRIORS' WATCH:  INDIVIDUALS, GROUPS, AND COALITIONS

We have often thrown around words like “troop-support groups” and “coalition building,” but what do we really mean with terms like these? Recently, our National Coordinator, “T,” and his lovely assistant “Betty-Boop,” conducted some research that had an astounding result. They found literally hundreds of groups – organizations, non-profits, motorcycle clubs, veterans groups, who had very similar and often overlapping goals, methods and missions – goals just like ours. Some of these groups are new, some are small, and some are long-standing but maybe “stagnant.”

Our goal is to bring as many of these groups as possible under our WWR “umbrella,” an umbrella that is growing and spreading by the day. Many groups doing the same type of thing is good. Many groups acting in synergistic cooperation with each other have the potential to be a real force for good, an unstoppable movement toward the realization of our vision.

These groups come in many different forms. Some are motorcycle clubs. Some are police, fire, or veteran-based motorcycle clubs. Some are quasi-motorcycle clubs which, like us, use motorcycles but don’t require them. Some are non-riding groups similar to A hero’s Welcome. Many are groups formed by “moms,” blue-star moms, moms 4 marines, gold star moms who have founded memorial projects. Others are veterans groups or military-related groups. ALL of them have one similar function – to support our troops and their families.

Many of these groups have already contacted and joined up with the Warriors’ Watch Riders. Others don’t know about us yet. ALL of them can benefit from an association with us and with each other – eliminating duplication of efforts, using our forums and communications network to bolster their own membership numbers and to help spread their message. It’s a true win-win, all for the purpose of growing the mission and to realize the vision that we share – a vision of a nation where our troops are truly honored, all of them and all of the time, as the heroes that they are. Together, groups and individuals united in honor and respect, we can achieve this, and soon. I believe this.

If you have friends, family members, co-workers who belong to ANY type of troop-support group or effort, no matter the geographic location of that effort, ask them to contact T at t@warriorswatch.org and see about having their group become a WWR Coalition Member. Together, united, we can and will change the culture – one warrior at a time.

Chicago-Area Warriors' Watch member Chambeaux has created a new YouTube Video, using images from Illinois WWR misisons combined with the dramatic and inspirational song "Welcome Home Faithful Soldier," by Russ Murphy. Click Here to check it out on the Warriors' Watch YouTube channel. And remember, if you take video clips of your WWR missions, send them to us and we'll put them on the WWR YouTube page. (Note: Russ Murphy Ministries is a friend of the WWR. Many of you have received a complimentary copy of his CD, Welcome Home Soldier. We are still including a free copy with all new WWR "Store" orders - a gift from The Gazeebo and Russ Murphy.)

*This newsletter is named "The Weekly Ride" or "The Ride", for short, in memory of and to honor Sgt. Jennifer Hartman, U.S. Army. Sgt. Hartman was killed in Iraq by America's enemies. She died in defense of our freedom at the age of 20. This quote from Jennifer was read at her graveside:

"It's not about what happened in the past. It's not about what might happen in the future. It's about the ride, for Christ's sake."
