SEPA/DE 11/11 Escort a WWII Vet home from DC

Lt. Eugene Henry Vickers is a WWII veteran and will turn 104 years old on Veteran's Day Nov 11, 2019, and I've chartered a bus to take him and his family to Washington DC to honor him at a plaque dedication ceremony at 2:30PM at the US Navy Memorial on Penna Ave. The US Navy Memorial Chairman will also honor him at their 1:00 PM Veteran's Day ceremony. Lt. Vickers served aboard the USS Ganymead and the USS Panamint alongside my father, Lt. Thomas Bayes Hollis. The Panamint was a command ship with a Rear Admiral that helped direct other ships to win the Battle of Okinawa against Japan. Lt. Vickers was a communications officer who was on the Panamint's bridge giving visual signal orders from the Admiral to other ships during the battle. He did this under relentless suicide kamikaze attacks that occurred during the 90 day battle, the biggest Navy battle ever.
