My favorite story with Wayne and Merill was during our busy days. I think we had at least 4 missions that day and really needed to hustle from one mission to the next in Crystal Lake. With flags flying from the previous mission, we may have (ahem) slightly exceed the speed limit down Rt. 14, weaving in and out of traffic, zooming up left turn lanes and asking the cars going staight at red lights if we could zoom on ahead. We did this for all the lights thru downtown Crystal Lake maybe hitting speeds over 70.

When we arrive to surprise our next honoree, Merill told me she had never ridden that fast or that crazy in her life! Wayne had a little more of that ever present twinkle in his eye.

We may have been a little extra pumped up when we crashed his lunch at that little diner where where our warrior was having his first stateside lunch with his family since coming home.

Wayne and his lovely bride were constant and welcome additions to hundreds of missions in N. IL.

Wayne, you will be missed and we know you are having a grand time with all our friends in Region 7.

Merill, please know that our hearts are all broken for you. Please feel our electronic hugs until we see you in person next.
