Event by Penndel Hulmeville Memorial Day Parade Committee, The Wall in Bucks County, and the Lower Bucks Vietnam Veterans Memorial is to honor a native son of Langhorne Manor Borough, PFC John E. Candy. This hero gave HIS LAST BREATH on Oct. 11, 1968 in the jungles of Vietnam. This dedication will allow is to remember the man, honor his courage, and discover the valor of this hero.
He had enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Entered the service via Regular Military. Served during the Vietnam War. He began his tour on October 3, 1968. Candy had the rank of Private First Class. His military occupation or specialty was Rifleman. Service number assignment was 2220418. Attached to 3rd Marine Division, 2nd Battalion, 9th Marines, E Company.
John is honored on the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial in Washington DC. Name inscribed at VVM Wall, Panel 41w, Line 44.
