Brothers and Sisters. this event is a first-time invite, I spoke with the Senior Vice Commander of the VFW Trappe to get approval to ride in front to dismount and thank the vets we see along the parade line. He stated that will be a nice touch to the event. Some info below sent to me below from Cathy the event organizer.
Thanks for calling me this morning! We would love to have the Warriors’ Watch Riders motorcycle group in our 2024 Collegeville-Trappe Memorial Day parade! The parade is organized by the Collegeville Economic Development Corp. (CEDC) with direction and participation from our parade committee, copied above. Each year we have about 2,000 area adults and kids watch the parade and then gather at Waterworks Park afterwards.
We would like everyone in the parade to arrive at the parking lot by 9:30 a.m. at the latest so we can get everyone checked in and in their places. Volunteers with clipboards will meet all parade participants at the parking lot entrance and direct them to their spots in the parade. The church restrooms will be open, and we will have water, coffee and snacks available.
The front of the parade arrives at the park in about 30 minutes; the entire parade arrives by about 10:45 p.m. The parade watchers then follow the end of the parade to Waterworks Park, and it takes another 15 to 20 minutes for everyone to get to the park.
The VFW’s Flag Ceremony and Remembrance Service then starts at 11 a.m. and lasts about a half an hour or so. After that, the Collegeville Economic Development Corp. (CEDC) and Collegeville Borough hold our annual Community Day with music, food vendors and free games and fun things to do for kids. We will also have tables with non-profit informational tables and some of our new businesses there. The event ends at 3 p.m.
