We were honored to stand during the dedication of the bridge on Upper Mountain Road in memory of Allan George Griffin. We learned he died saving the others on their helicopter - it was reported another guy pulled the pin on a hand grenade; PFC Griffin grabbed it and took the explosion. A niece wrote a wonderful letter about her Uncle based on things she learned from her mother (his younger sister) and letters he had written.

Ed Preston and others are doing a great job making sure these men are not forgotten and ensuring their stories are told for posterity.
