Location: PHILADELPHIA, PA.
Salvador Castro, age 98, of Levittown, passed away at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne on Sunday September 10, 2023. Born in Newark, NJ., he has been a resident of Middletown Twp.

Since 1953. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in WWII. He was awarded the Purple Heart, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon, a Bronze Star, the WWII Victory Medal and recently a Congressional Gold Medal. Sal earned both his Bachelor of Science and Masters Degrees in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at Drexel University. He was very proud of accomplishing this through the GI Bill. He was a very active volunteer at Washington Crossing National Cemetery serving on The Honor Guard and later in the office. Sal enjoyed building and flying model airplanes, sailing his boat and fixing things when they broke.

Family and friends are invited to attend his Life Celebration on Sunday September 17, 2023 from 3 to 5 Pm at Beck Givnish F.H. 7400 New Falls Rd. Levittown, Pa. 19055. Friends are also invited to assemble on the funeral home parking lot at 2 Pm Monday September 18, 2023 where his funeral Procession will leave precisely at 2:15 Pm for his interment, with full military honors, in Washington Crossing National Cemetery.

Mr. Castro was a special man, which was evident by all who attended and the words spoken by his daughter. He was obviously much-loved and will be missed.
