A request came in from one of own, George Oronzio aka- Focker- (a founding member of WWR) George would like us to help honor his stepfather who passed away on August 29th with a flag line at the church and escort to St Peter and Paul's cemetery.

Skip was a Marine, serving from 1958-1961. He was very proud of his time in the service and was always happy to meet fellow Marines.
He also protected our country through various classified military projects that he worked on in the private sector.

Anthony J. “Skip” DiGuiesppe, Jr., Marine and Newtown Square resident, entered Eternal Life on August 29th, 2023 while his wife was holding his hand.

He was the husband of Philomena Borrelli DiGuiesppe and the son of the late Anthony J. DiGuiesppe, Sr. and Eleanor Tancredi DiGuiesppe.

Born and raised in West Philadelphia, Mr. DiGuiesppe attended Our Lady of Victory Elementary School. Upon graduation Skip joined the Marine Corps and served from 1958 to 1961. He was very proud of this fact since height and weight requirements were waived for him to become a Marine. His tour of duty was served as a Field Radio Telegraph Operator serving in the 1ST Battalion, 8th Marines 2ND Marine Division FMF.

Upon discharge, Skip worked for Control Switch Co. in Folcroft then for the General Electric Re-entry System in Philadelphia. When General Electric was bought by Martin Marietta, then merged with Lockheed, he stayed on as Senior Test Engineer Staff with Lockheed-Martin. One of his duties as test engineer was to write programs for and to test the Global Positioning Satellite (GPS), Mars Observer, and various classified Military Programs.

In addition to his interest in Missiles/Space and computers, Skip enjoyed his grandsons and granddaughter, woodworking, vacations in Florida, traveling and cruising with his wife and friends.

Mr. DiGuiesppe is survived by his loving wife of almost 21 years, Philomena M. Borrelli DiGuiesppe; his sisters, Marie Morinelli of Conshohocken, Pa.; Barbara McClintock of Folcroft, Pa; his stepson George Oronzio and his wife, Marianne of Glen Riddle; grandchildren Gerald Collins of NJ, Lilly and Luke Oronzio of Glen Riddle, PA. Predeceased by his sister Eleanor DiGuiesppe of NJ and his stepson David Oronzio of Glenolden, Pa., also survived by many loving and caring family members, friends, and neighbors.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Mr. DiGuiesppe's life on Tuesday, September 5th, 2023 at St. Anastasia Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square beginning at 9:30 AM. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:30 AM. Interment will be at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, 1600 Sproul Road, Springfield, PA 19064.

Unfortunately, I've already committed to another funeral, but send my sincere sympathies to all.
