As Mayor, I am honored to announce that Yardley Boro will again be welcoming the Carry The Load organization to our community. We are excited to participate in the effort to restore meaning back to Memorial Day, and to provide opportunities for Americans to connect with the sacrifices of our military, law enforcement, firefighters, and rescue personnel.

Here's how you can participate in this year's Carry The Load events:
RALLY: Join us at the official 2023 Yardley Boro Rally on Wednesday, May 3rd from 3:00pm - 3:30pm at the Yardley Boro Veterans Monument, where we will welcome the Carry The Load walkers to Yardley, and cheer them off as they continue their trek through Pennsylvania and onto Texas.
WALK: Join us in our commitment to having a Yardley Boro sponsored team of walkers join the Carry The Load relay. While you are welcome to walk with us for any portion of the relay, we are officially promoting the following two walking segments:
Washington Crossing (depart 1:45pm on May 3), to Yardley (arrive 3:00pm on May 3), approximately a 4 mile walk.
Yardley (depart 3:30pm on May 3), to the Temperance House in Newtown (arrive 5:30pm on May 3), approximately a 5.6 mile walk.
If you (or a group you are associated with), are interested in walking one of the above designated routes, please contact me.

Chris Harding

Rally Location: Yardley Veterans Monument E Afton Ave and S Delaware Ave Yardley Pa.
Rally Time 2:30 Pm Flag Line in place by 2:45

Standing by!

It is common for a few of us to make a day/nights out of this. If interested you can also participate in escorting the walkers or the bus before and after the flag line. Years ago we stayed with the group past midnight, the last few we stayed until 10pm when they enter the city. Check out carrytheload.com for times and map.
