About 60 U.S. Navy recruits could not be home for the holidays (probably the first time for most of them) and Gold Star parents, Bob and Linda Stack have decided to do something about that.

They plan to get these sailors to Christian Liberty Academy around 9am and are requesting an escort followed with a flag line and greeting as they spend a day away from the barracks.

After they all get inside, we are free to mingle with them while they have a continental breakfast, then they will be given phones to call home and computers to answer emails for the first time in 6 weeks. If you can, stay for a while. Ask them what Christmas was like growing up. Each and every one of them has a story they want to share with you...

This will be a 2-part mission. you can greet the arriving escort at Christian Liberty with timjim or just do the escort from the oasis.

FIRST PART:
There will be an escort from the SB Lake Forest Oasis. All are welcome 2, 3, or 4 wheels.
We will intercept the bus as they are driving down I-294. Staging for this part will be at 8:15am. We will depart when they drive past.

Staging Time: 8:30 AM
Staging Location: Lake Forest Oasis
Ride Brief: 8:45 AM
Departure: About 9 AM or when the busses pass

SECOND PART:
Tim Lorman will be handing out the flags for the flag line at Christian Liberty Academy. NOTE.... This year the Recruits will be entering the school on the west side on Ridge St. Remember that once the recruits are inside, we are also invited inside to talk and hang out with them.

Staging Time: 9:00 AM

Staging Location: Christian Liberty Academy, 502 W Euclid Ave Suite 203, Arlington Heights, IL

RCs: Dave Skinner 630-688-8804
tazz-man Rich Borkowski 630-546-2728
timjim - Tim Lorman 630-621-6025

The recruits will be singing one of our favorite Christmas carols to their hosts at Christian Liberty Academy; That song is ANCHORS AWEIGH!

This will be our tenth year for this mission.
