Electricians Mate, 1st Class Petty Officer Dylan Bayna, United States Navy Aviation Electrician's Mate 1st Class Petty Officer of the United States Navy, Dylan Bayna, entered the service in September 2013, and graduated from Navy basic training at Great Lakes Naval Training Center in Great Lakes, Illinois. After basic training, Dylan attended Naval Aviation Electricians “A-School” at Pensacola Naval Training Center in Pensacola, Florida. Following Training. Dylan’s first assignment was to Strike Fighter Squadron, VFA-122, in Lemoore, California, where his duties included maintenance and upkeep of one of this nation’s most advanced fighter jets, the F-18 Super Hornet. He was also tasked with the security of personnel and assets at the Lemoore installation as an Auxilary Security Force sentry for NAS Lemoore. While assigned to VFA-122, Dylan received his assignment to complete the Advanced “F-18 C-School” also at Lemoore. His following assignment was with Strike Fighter Squadron, VFA-195 at Naval Air Facility Atsugi, Japan. Soon after, the squadron relocated to Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan. Dylan completed eight deployments from 2016 to 2022 with his squadron onboard the USS Ronald Reagan. During that time, he was an integral part of his squadron's numerous exercises and operations ensuring fully mission capable aircraft to operate in Fifth and Seventh Fleet high profile missions. During that time, he received several awards and promotions: In 2016, and was promoted to 3rd Class petty officer; in 2017, he was certified as an Enlisted Air Warfare Specialist; in 2018, he received his first of four Navy and Marine Corps Achievement medals; in 2019 he was promoted to 2nd Class Petty Officer, and assumed duties as Leading Petty Officer of the squadron’s work center for Aviation Electricians; in February of this year, he received Sailor of the Year for VFA-195; and recently, this past August, Dylan was promoted to 1st Class Petty Officer. He is currently home in transition to his next duty station in NAS Lemoore, CA at the Fleet Readiness Center West for Intermediate Maintenance of the F-18 Super Hornet Before Enlisting in the United States Navy, Dylan attended Poquessing Middle School and is also a 2013 Neshaminy High School alumni. Dylan’s interests and activities while growing up in Lower Southampton’s Woodlyn Crossing included spending time with friends, preparing for his military career, and playing basketball. Dylan’s Parents are Vanessa and Richard Bayna; Richard is a veteran of the United States Navy and a former volunteer for the Lower Southampton Veterans Advisory Council. Dylan also has a younger brother Ryan.
