***HONOR MISSION*** GREGORY LEW CARR, USN(R), 1965-1968 Springfield, MO THURSDAY, 21 JANUARY 2021 The family and loved ones of Seaman Gregory Lew Carr have honored the Warriors Watch Riders (Patriot Guard Riders are welcome to participate as well) with a request for a Final Salute and an escort to our hero’s final resting place at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery (MVC) where we will stand a flag line while military honors are rendered. According to the DD214 for this period, SN Carr served 1 year, 10 months and 29 days of active duty and 1 year, 8 months and 20 days of reserve totaling 3 years, 7 months and 18 days of service. He was released from active duty on 17 Dec 1968. At the time of separation, he was assigned to the USS Chilton (LPA-38) and was in training for BN 3rd class. He received the National Defense Service Medal. SN Carr was born on 5 Nov 1946 in Springfield, MO and died 1 Jan 2021 in Springfield, MO. His parents were Roberta Fern (Childress) Carr and LE Willis Carr. He is survived by two sons and other family members. Greg retired from being a foreman in commercial construction, helping to build several prominent buildings in the Ozarks. STAGE: 10:45am, Thur. 21 Jan. 21, Walnut Lawn Funeral Home, 2001 W.
