SEPA 7/7- Honor Mission Flag Line

Warriors' Watch have been asked to honor USMC Corporal/ PPD Officer John "Jack" Rentz, Jr. who passed away on June 15th.
A flag line has been requested throughout the duration of the viewing.

"Jack" J. Rentz, Jr., 79, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2020 at Abington Jefferson Hospice. Beloved husband of Mary K. (nee Conley) Rentz. Loving father of Donna M. Rentz, Mary Kay Cunningham (Keith) and Jacqueline M. Rentz. Also survived by his grandchildren Joslyn, Owen, Jack, Malcolm, and Olivia. He was predeceased by his parents, John J. Rentz, Sr. and Mary E. (nee Merritt) Rentz. Jack served as a Corporal for the United States Marine Corps from 1959-1963. He was stationed at Parris Island, S.C., Camp Lejeune, N.C., and the Philippines. After his Honorable discharge from the Marine Corps, Jack continued to serve and protect as a Philadelphia Police Officer from 1966-1990. After 25 years of service he went on to become a Private Investigator, incorporating his love of photography and law enforcement.

Jack loved and treasured his time with his family. You could often find him at his cabin in the Poconos where he enjoyed hunting. He loved to take his daughters quading, skiing, looking for deer, fishing and kayaking on the lake. Jack had many hobbies he enjoyed throughout the years but the one he found the most rewarding was his time volunteering as the head swim coach for St. Martha Swim Team from 1982-1990.
The title Jack honored the most was being called "Pop" by his 5 grandchildren. He shared his love of nature with each and every one of them by visiting the Chamounix Stables, Pennypack Park and hiking up the mountains. Jack was present for all milestones, school honors and babysitting duties of his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by them.

Relatives and friends are invited to Johns Life Celebration, Tuesday, July 7, 2020 from 11:00AM to 1:00PM at John F. Givnish of Academy Road Followed by his funeral service at 1:00PM. Interment is Private.
