Brothers and sisters, we have a request for a flag line for a member of A Hero’s Welcome who made many missions also with WWR. See below from our sisters Maria Hyland, Rose Pagan and Rosely Robinson, our leadership with A Hero’s Welcome.. We lost a Veteran and a true patriot...

It is with a heavy heart that I announce details of the Honor Mission for Army Veteran, A Hero’s Welcome and MSAWI Member, MSGT Merriella McMillian. Merriella worked tirelessly for the betterment of our Veterans and Active Duty Military and proudly served in the US Army for over 30 years.

Arrangements for the funeral and burial of our beloved Merriella McMillian have been completed by her daughter Sha’Mere Blatch and her son Donnell Bazemore. We wanted to share the details as Mella touched so many lives in the community.

Visitation from 8-10 am followed by a 10 am service will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Congo Funeral Legacy Center located at 501 W.28th Street in Wilmington, DE. This is the former Christ Our King Church.
Burial will be at 2 pm at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd, Bear, DE 19701

For those who may be interested there will be a Flag Line to honor Mella and her 31 years of military service in the Army at both the visitation/service and the cemetery. Please bring your 3×5 flag if you wish to participate. All are welcome.

Mella’s passion was Wreaths Across America she has many loved ones resting at our cemetery where wreaths are placed annually in December. She asked in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Wreaths Across America under wreathsacrossamerica.org/DE0008. If you would like to make a cash or check donation please send it to A Hero’s Welcome Delaware, 62 Willow Creek Lane, Newark, DE 19711 or see me at the services with your donation.

We love you Mella, you will not be forgotten

Please respond if you will be attending and at what location, thank you.
