We have been asked to be a part of the services of SGT Matthew Kelly, who was a Vietnam Veteran. He had no family, and it will an Honor to grant his wishes. Warriors Watch will Stand a Flag line at WCNC in Newtown, Pa.

From one of his nurses: His name was Sargent Matthew Kelly and he served in the Army. He was enlisted into the military in January 1969 and was stationed at Ft. Bragg. He was sent to Vietnam in December 1969 and was there until November 1970. He grew up in Philadelphia and much of his life after the military is unknown. His parents and brother passed away when he was young and he was married but divorced early and had no children.

Matthew's life was hard and he was one of the forgotten. I had been one of his nurses for a little over a year and he had been on hospice care since March. He told me his final wishes. He never got that "welcome home" and he told me that he wanted "all the honors" and "a military service". I want to honor his wishes and my director has allowed me to make his final arrangements.

Sargent Matthew Kelly will be laid to rest with full honors on July 10, 2019 at 1pm at Washington Crossing National Cemetery (830 Highland Rd, Newtown, PA 18940). It will be a closed casket. There will be a processional starting at 12p sharp from Galzerano Funeral Home (9304 Old Bustleton Ave, Philadelphia PA 19115) to Washington Crossing by way of Bustleton Ave to Bustleton Pike (Rt 532).

He will be escorted by members of Rolling Thunder PA Chapter 1, the American Legion Post 263, as well as several other chapters. The Vietnam Veterans will be doing an honor tribute at the funeral home to send him off and Doc Speight Sr of the American Legion Post 738 will be conducting the service.

I am asking for help in giving him the proper send off. If you ride a motorcycle or just want to be part of the processional please be at the funeral home by 11:30am. If you want to just meet at Washington Crossing National Cemetery please be there by 1245pm, or if you cannot make it but are close to the route and can wave a flag in his honor, I know he would have loved that.

Also... I'm asking for everyone to bring a can of Pepsi in his honor. Kelly LOVED Pepsi!!!

From the bottom of my heart....thank you already to all those who said they would come. Thank you for helping him to be remembered. Kelly was a very good man and deserves thisā¤.

RALLY: 12:30PM
LOCATION: Washington Crossing National Cemetary

Unfortunately we will be out of the area, but Sgt. Kelly is/will be in our thoughts and prayers.
