Post subject:  N.IL 7/16 Chicago's Bravest vs Chicago's Finest @ Sox Park

You are invited to participate in the opening ceremony of the Chicago's Finest v. Chicago's Bravest Charity Baseball Game at First Rate Field. This game is to honor Chicago Police Officers and Chicago Firefighters who have lost their lives on the job.

Our bikes with 3 X 5 American flags will enter the ball field and park on the warning track.

The fallen heroes of the previous year and their families will be honored with a ceremony including Honor Guards, bagpipes and the honorary first pitch.

We will dismount for the moment of silence, the 21 gun salute, and remain standing for the National Anthem. Upon the completion we will mount our bikes and wait for the announcement: “Warriors’ Watch Riders, LIGHT EM UP!”.

We will start all of our bikes at the same time, and with a 5 second "shout-out," we will say in one voice that we support our police & fire department and will never forget those who have given all to protect us.

This will be our ninth year doing this mission at Guaranteed Rate Field, formerly known as The Cell.

STAGING: 4:00pm to 5:30pm This time can be used to clean bikes and mount flags.

LOCATION: 3500 S Shields Ave., Chicago, IL 60616. We will park on both sides of Shields, just north of 35th Street.

There will be exhibits from the police & fire departments, SWAT, police dogs, fire trucks & paramedics.

RIDE BRIEF: 5:50pm

We will stage in 2 lines.

FINAL BRIEFING: 6:15pm We will go over the mission, including any last minute updates.

No sign up is necessary. All proceeds from will benefit the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation and the Chicago Fire Department's Gold Badge Society. Riders and participants are asked to purchase tickets, but it is not required.

Tickets are $5 in advance and $5 on game day for all riders.

If you don’t have a 3 X 5 flag, we will have some at the stadium that can be zip-tied to your bike.

There is space for trikes, please speak with an RC at staging. Sorry, no cages inside the park.

We need flag support, water and towels. Please bring video cameras, we want to have as many views as possible.

We will also need a few volunteers to go onto the field and place the markers for the bikes on the warning track.
