Dear Sarge and all the Warriors' Watch Riders,
On behalf of the family of Horace M. Carr, Sr., we want to thank each of you who participated in escorting our Daddy to his final resting place on November 27, 2015. What a sight to see your flags flying as we exited the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel! Our father would have been so very proud!
Our Daddy was 91 and an Army veteran of WW II. He participated in the Battle of the Bulge and was a purple heart recipient. He loved this country and flew our flag in his front yard. He was a patriot through and through!
I expected you to escort us to the cemetery and then leave but you didn't. You stood at attention with your flags waving for the graveside service. We thank you so much for the honor and dignity bestowed by your group to our family! I was able to shake most everyone's hand but wanted to express our thanks again in this email.
Let me tell you the impact of this grandfather on one of his granddaughters. My daughter who is grown with children of her own was riding to the cemetery with us. Her first comment was who thought of the patriotic riders? Pop would have loved all these flags! In fact, she took a picture from our car as we followed you and posted it on Facebook thanking your group publicly for honoring her Pop.
Again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for honoring our veteran father!
Libbie, JoAnne, Mickey, Bill and Carolyn
Children of Horace Mixon Carr, Sr.
