Ride Report posted for Country Mike

We were asked to stand Honor Guard by James Harrity, who is the Conductor for this Run that started at the Philadelphia Navy Yard and ends in Washington DC. to Pay Tribute to our Fallen Heroes in Blue.

Rally Point was in front of the Spectrum, 6AM – KSU 6:30. One by one WWR showed. We assembled and left for the Navy Yard which was a 4 minute ride. We passed through the gates and had only a couple blocks to go to 5100 S. Broad. Wern’t quite sure where to go once we hit our address point. Jim Harrity met us and told us where to park and what building the Ceremonies were to take place. This was a grand old building used, I’m sure in the ship building era. High, Long and Wide Dated 1857.

We watched as the high Brass walked in this building.Pa. State Police, Phila. PD, PDs from Universities and Military Branches and Our Military and Police Color Guards. Families of Our Fallen were present.

The Ceremony started with the calling of the various Color Guards to. They marched in single file holding various flags and rifles from a hallway out of our view. All I can say is I was awe as they kept comming around the corner and filed passed the podium area. The call was put to Present Arms and the Star Spangled Banner was sung beautifully by a women who needed no microphone but had one. Her voice just echoed in this building. Then, an opening prayer was said.

Right before the Ceremony started, Bobcat came up to me and suggested that we leave about 1/2 way through the Ceremony as we had get our bikes out of a parking lot and ride 4 blocks to the Gates of The Philadelphia Navy Yard for our flagline. Excellent idea. I looked at the program wher he was pointing and realized that it was when The Phila Police Commissioner was gonna be introduced. I found the Commissioner and told him of our plan, he smiled and said no problem.

We got our bikes and lined up at the Gates. Two rows, sharing 30 or so bikes and two trucks. The Guards at the gates even shut two gates as to allow one us to park bikes in the middle of the road. We saw the police cars with lights on and knew they were comming. As they approached, Bobcat called us to arms. The runners were thanking us as they ran by. Of course we thanked them. The support vehicles gave us the thumbs up and thanks. After they exited through the gates, we were dismissed.

I would like to thank The WWR,The Phila. Centurions MC, The Bullets MC, Blue Knights MC, the PGR for a great show of support for OUR FALLEN HEROES.
