Ride Report posted for Lisa Moran
What a beautiful day for an escort. The sun was shining and not a cloud in the sky. Robert was greated at the gate at O’Hare by his mom and step dad along with the USO.
Mom called me to let me know they were heading out to meet us for Robert’s surprise welcome home.
When they arrived we had 2 police cars, about 10 bikes and several cages. Hugs and handshakes and we were off to give Robert an escort he will never forget. I have to admit, it was one of the coolest escorts I myself have been in thanks to our wonderful LEO and FD.
We hit the road and started with one LEO in front and one in the back. It was a seemless handoff all the way, thank you to Lake Zurich, Kildeer, Deer Park, Wauconda, Lakemoor, City of McHenry, McHenry County, Il. State, Lake County, and Wonder Lake as well as Wonder Lake FD. All I can say is WOW!!! A special thank you to Chief Mahlke for meeting up with me today and hanging a welcome home banner at the parents home. Not only did Chief Mahlke contact the WWR to set up this welcome home, he is our newest member!
We had LEO all the way and they led us on quite as escort, stopping all traffic at times as we escorted our Hero home home for some much deserved R&R.
Thank you Micki allowing us to escort your son home and thank you Robert for all you do. We support you and will be here when you return in 6 months.

Impressive escort!! The cavalcade went by me in front of the McHenry Harley Shop and I hit my stebal horn on the bike a good few times for ya!
This was so incredible. I wasn’t able to participate, but I was one of the vehicles that stopped to allow the motorcade to pass. I have no words for how moved I was!!
This is for all the wonderful men and women who helped bring my son Robert Lopez home with a real hero’s welcome. What a perfect day it turned out to be. We were met by the Warriors Watch along with various police departments which all gave robert hugs and handshakes.
The police stopping traffic the whole way home allowing Robert to get home to start his much needed R&R. It was a awsome sight to see, very impressive, very moving.. I will never forget that day and neither will Robert. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU..and THANK YOU to all who pulled your cars and trucks off the road,to those who stood outside waiving and our neighbors who helped welcome Robert Home.
