WOW!!! What a day. What a day to be an American who bleeds red, white and blue! What a day to ride escort for one of America’s Real heroes, Jason Jerema.

God Bless the USA.

It’s been kind of busy in NJ lately. Please don’t get me wrong, that is a good thing. But I was soooo looking forward to just sitting on the back of the pack and taking in the sights and sounds of this Welcome Home Mission. But that was not to be.

We (Red and I) took out an ad in this missions posting that we were looking for an RC. Okay, no luck. No biggie…been there, done that. But then RED goes and gets sick on me. Bronchitis, Flu, You Name It, He’s Got It! This was at 2215 hours on Saturday.

Fast forward to Sunday; Sunshine, 60 degrees, Patriots all around me, I AM SO GLAD TO BE LEADING THIS RIDE!!! I hate to put missions in an order, but in eight months of being a part of the WWR, this one is near the top of my list.

The jersey crew met at LZ168 and moved on to Mike’s Famous in DE by 1530. We got off the bikes and I called Jason’s cell phone to find out his location. He claimed to be about seven minutes away. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?! With that said, the ride briefing lasted about two minutes. We then made a flag line and waited on the Man of the Hour. Due to traffic snafu’s, seven minutes turned into about twenty-seven minutes, but it’s all good.

Jason had been under the impression that maybe two bikers were going to meet him for the ride home. He pulled into a lot that had about 50 people, with most holding American flags, clapping and cheering his arrival. Hand shakes…hugs…back slaps….ooorahhhs…. and then inside Mike’s. The folks at Mike’s wanted to give Jason a few gifts in appreciation of his service. Shortly after that we saddled up for the ride home.

During our ride up I295 many cages beeped, waved, or gave a thumbs up as they passed by our convoy. We had several bikes flying large flags, and people took notice. Smooth sailing all the way to Cherry Hill. A BIG thank you goes out to Hollywood, tail gunner extraordinaire. Thanks bro. Back to out story….Cherry Hill PD picked us up not too far along Rt. 70 and they delivered us to the Evesham PD near the town border, and they took us the rest of the way.

Lots of patriots were waiting for this Warrior to come home. The Evesham FD and Rescue were out if force displaying that giant American Flag, for all the world to see. Jason’s parents hadn’t seen him is some time and his mom gave him such a hug I thought Jason was going to pass out. His mother shed tears of joy, her boy was finally home, done his last deployment. Jason’s dad beamed with pride. Their family has four generations of military history. Presentations were made by Colonel Bancroft, Cindy of The Yellow Ribbon Club, and “ducttape” presented the WWR Honor Coin. Joining us at this Homecoming were members of A-Hero’s Welcome, including Sharon and Ian. How sweet is that!!

Jason Jerema is scheduled to enter civilian life sometime this June.

Thank you for your service Jason. Thank you for the sacrifices you have made, putting your personal life on hold, so that we may live the life we choose.

Jason, God Bless you and Welcome Home.

Respectfully
