The following Ride Report is posted for Regional Coordinator (Central States) Jon D. Jon’s northern Illinois/Southern Wisconsin crew successfully secured a booth at the 28th Annual Cycle World International Motorcycle Shows Presented at the Donald Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL. This is a huge event, and the interest in Warriors’ Watch that was generated in that booth was gratifying and phenomenal. Following is a report, and there are some photos on the Photo Page:

A couple of months ago we were talking about the upcoming motorcycle show and who was going to check out the new bikes and accessories.  A yearly ritual for this area.  Cheryl, our Media SPOC, said I wonder if we could get a booth?  We kind of chuckled at the thought of this really becoming a reality.  We spoke to others that we know that already had a booth to see if we could hang out and hand out our literature.  No one had room for us.  Cheryl and I spoke and I told her to see what she could do with Show Management.  To our surprise, one week before the show we received word that the show wanted us!  After some tough negotiations, we had a booth at the International Motorcycle Show!  Holy Crap! Now what?  We need tables, chairs, literature a BANNER and oh yeah lets not forget, people to run the booth for 3 days!  How would this work with only 1 week to plan and execute?  That’s easy if you’re from Northern Illinois, we gathered like squirrels in autumn, collecting everything we needed (so we thought) and off to the show we went.  From our setup crew to those who seemed to lose their voices to get the attention of the people walking past, our members earned their chevrons this weekend.  After signing up a new 212 members and handing out over 1000 pieces of literature and countless pin backs, they still had enough energy to tear down the booth, pack it up and head home for a little rest before starting the work week.  So if you were wondering what we do for fun, now you know!  A big THANK YOU to everyone involved with this wonderful show!  A special thank you to Kurt Whittington from the Motorcycle Show, without your support this would not have been possible.
