On a Sunday morning with temperatures struggling to reach the lower “20’s”
Warriors Watch members gathered in the lot of the Willow Grove Park Mall.
9 motorcycles, 7 cages and a total of 25 members then proceeded to Riviera
Pizza on Easton Road in Glenside. “Sal”, Riviera’s owner, was celebrating
20 years of ownership of the shop and as part of his celebration wanted to
share with family members of those serving in our Armed Forces. Families
were invited to come to the Glenside VFW post for music, pizza, a clown
making balloon puppets and other activities. Members of Warriors Watch met
members of the Marine Corps. League and several active duty US Marines,
along with members of the Roslyn Fire Co. and State Represenative Josh
Shapiro at the pizza shop and then provided escort duties from the pizza
shop to the VFW post. With Abington Township Police units escorting us and
WPVI Channel 6 taking video we took the pizza to the people. Upon arrival
at the VFW, WWR members posted a flag line at the entrance while
Other members stayed on for a while longer to enjoy the hospitality. We
look forward to returning to the Glenside VFW for events in the future.
Respectfully submitted,
