AFTER RIDE REPORT POSTED FOR WWR ILLINOIS STATE COORDINATOR JON:

Started this day before the sun came up. We rode in the darkness with a cool breeze in our faces but we were not cold. The smiles on our faces and the warmth in our hearts kept us toasty warm. When we arrived at our staging location we could already see flags flying, WOW, they’ve surprised me once again! A dozen smiling faces were ready to great our returning Warrior. We got off our bikes and we found out that our Warrior would be a couple of hours late.

We had a pretty full plate scheduled for Sunday, but as we thought about for a few minutes and then plan B, “lets go eat” so off to Lisa’s we went, you east coasters really missed a good meal. After Breakfast we headed back to meet Ivan and his wonderful family. They were very tired from their journey from California to Illinois but very surprised he was! Ivan has recently completed Sniper School and he, his wife and all of us couldn’t have been prouder of his service. We escorted Ivan back to his home where he was met by more smiles and flag waving support! Here is a picture of Ivan and his wife:
