AFTER-RIDE REPORT POSTED FOR ILLINOIS STATE COORDINATOR JON:

Robbie is a young and vibrant Army Specialist stationed in Hawaii. He has already served a tour of duty in Iraq and is scheduled to return to the theater in October. We had the opportunity to meet Robbie soon after his return from combat but before he made it back home. We are on a business trip to Hawaii and his mom had already planned a surprise welcome home for him. After convincing him that we were just a couple of patriotic Americans from his area he agreed to meet with us in Honolulu. We ate, drank and talked for about 3 hours before he needed to leave and get ready for his plane ride back to the mainland where he was met early in the morning by about 50 of our group (back then PGR).

Well Robbie and his parents who are now members of Warriors’ Watch have become close friends. Robbie is back home to get married and so with his parents in tow, we decided to go wake him up. He was thrilled to see us again and made sure to let me know that I better be at his reception next weekend. I assured him that we would. He then gave me, his CIB (combat infantry’s mans badge) that was so cool! I will treasure it always. Here’s a picture of Robbie:
